Getting off to the races with your SEO is quite possibly the most important step in creating a great and effective inbound digital marketing campaign. SEO is kind of like the building blocks of life when it comes to anyone’s digital presence, from inbound enquires to mystical retargeting campaigns it all starts here. With this in mind, I will let you in on some of the do’s and don’ts of starting off your SEO voyage.

 

Don’t…

…Be lazy with your keyword research, take your time, as a wise man once said to me “pick your battles”. There are countless keyword research tools out there that will allow you to strategically climb those tricky google ranks. My personal preference is toward Moz.

 

Do…

…Create great content, I actually can’t stress this enough. Content is completely king when it comes to SEO and anything else digital. This is exactly why when I started my company Moola Marketing, the first person I bought onboard was Gabrielle, to bring all graphic design that took place in-house, so we could always provide our clients with amazing, eye-catching visuals. That’s enough of blowing Moola’s horn but it adds to my point, make your content amazing, something people want to see, read and engage with. Some of our examples.

 

Don’t…

…Saturate your content with the same keyword or message. Nearly all digital platform’s algorithms despise saturation and with good reason, the whole point of social media and the digital world is it is forever changing. A good tip for this could be, design a keyword campaign, spread it out and don’t cram it all into one blog.

 

Do…

…Be consistent and persistent! Be that nerdy kid trying to pop their cherry it will happen (ignore my teenage flashbacks). It might not happen straight away but if you keep at it and you’ve followed the steps of picking your battle, amazing content and not saturating your message it will happen. Making it to the top of Google for your chosen field is an achievement and anything worth doing takes time, well almost everything.

 

 

My Digital Marketing Sales Pitch…

After reading this I hope it has given you a better understanding or at least a few tips on how to tackle your own SEO battle.
